Q1 2025 - Three Things We Love

This quarter, we’re reflecting on the 2025 Grammy Awards, which delivered unforgettable performances, powerful tributes, and an exciting lineup of rising stars. Here’s what we loved:

A Heartfelt Tribute to LA: Reminder of Resilience

The Grammys are known for their show-stopping performances. This year was unique, for it was laced throughout with  powerful tributes to Los Angeles’ first responders and residents affected by the recent wildfires. The evening had many moments of intentional empathy and generosity  amid the energy of the night— a space to honor those who have endured hardship and those who have stepped up in service. We often talk about mindfulness as a way to build resilience, and this tribute was a beautiful reminder of the strength that comes from community, compassion and taking care of one another. It was also a successful fundraiser. The Recoding Academy and MusicCares raised over $2 million during the ceremony.

Chappell Roan: The Midwest Princess of Power + Authenticity

Chappell Roan’s rise is a testament to the power of showing up authentically. From her electrifying performance of Pink Pony Club to her well-deserved Best New Artist win, she radiates presence and joy—two qualities we admire and practice in mindfulness. Watching her embrace her uniqueness, inviting others to do the same, and reminding record executives to pay artists a working wage, is a reminder that self-expression is a form of advocacy and self-care. We can’t get her performance out of our heads (in the best way), and as fellow Midwest natives, we’re inspired by her.

Best New Artist: Soundtrack of the Present Moment

The Best New Artist category is always one of our favorites because it encourages us to pause and truly listen—to new voices, new perspectives, and new sounds that reflect the world around us. This year’s nominees, from Benson Boone’s heartfelt ballads to Shaboozey’s genre-blending storytelling, Doechii’s fearless creativity, and Teddy Swims’ soulful depth, remind us how music can ground us in the present. Whether it’s a song that energizes, soothes, or sparks reflection and creativity, each of these artists offers a way to bring mindfulness into our daily lives, one note at a time.
